Working to Improve Communications
Here’s How YOU Can be Helpful:
Our experience with the recent 140th Anniversary Celebration of Austin (Austin-East) High School was eye opening. Granted, it was a wonderful experience. Those of us who were fortunate enough to attend had a great time. But we left thinking: “The communication could have been better.” And many of our classmates also expressed the same sentiment to us.
Certainly some people were left feeling left out simply because they weren’t able to know the details of the event in time. Let’s set aside the reality that NO ONE ELSE could have gotten into that place anyway, we’ve resolved to try to at least make sure our people have the information on time for future events.
That’s where YOU come in. Obviously, there was a lot of hard work already put into building a contact list for all our classmates. But the work needs to go further. We have some ideas. One of them is this website as a way to stay in touch and let people know what’s in the works as things develop.
You can be part of this by becoming a registered user, keeping track of what’s going on and sharing it with your other classmates who may not have access to the website.
You can also encourage and help those friends to learn how to get online and log in for themselves.
Then you can all take part in the forums and help us plan events, locate long lost classmates, and correct outdated contact information.
Start now by using the contact button at the right to log in and update your own information.
You’ll be glad you did.
